I will see if I can explain buddies. Marcia, Katherine, any others, feel free to chip in. Susan felt it would be a good idea if you had someone in the 6traits ring that you could work with. Most people emailed that they needed a buddy and then many people contacted someone from the list and set up their own buddies. Save the messages of people who need a buddy and if you see someone from your grade level, you can email them and ask them to be your buddy. Let Susan know who you and your buddy are. The professor = told us that poetry wasn't a therapy exercise. I disagreed then, and I disagree now. *Writing* is a therapy exercise, or can be. Susan, Writing has been a tremendous release for me as well. It is one that I = often recommend to my youth at church when dealing with uncertainty in their lives. Learning to deal with the loss of my mom,killed in an airplane crash, at the tender age of 7, and later trying to cope with senseless tragedy of my 19-year-old brother's suicide has given me many = opportunities to share with pen and paper the hurt, anger and loneliness of heartache = that other wise would have be imprisioned in a grief-stricken heart. Not to mention those teen years with its "crushing" breakups with boyfriends, the = knife-in-the-back "best" friends syndrome and the victory lap of a state title team. Writing has been a life-long friend that has allowed many tears to be expressed through the flow of a patient, listening pen. Is it = therapy? Without a doubt. It is a way to reflect more clearly on the = window of the soul. Writing and the Lord have been my life boat through stormy skies and bright, shiny days.
